Durability of the cutting edge
It’s disadvantageous because it lifts the structure upward and the force goes up
Because the force comes down and presses the structure but when it’s not installed completely, the materials can be flown to the sky with that force.
Influence of the bulit-up edge
Shorter durability of the flank wear with the fiction during insertion

Friction resistance
Rather low
The friction force during the insertion is low but its stroke can be high to the downward
Finished surface
For the higher friction resistance during insertion, the force to lift upward is high
There is no glossy surface but the rotation resistance during the low feed cannot be occurred so all the surface is rather glossy and even. The finished surface is more glossy than the upward cutting but in case of the soft materials the finished surface can be worsened.
Cutting condition
It raises the cutting speed and feed more than the upward cutting. It’s possible to cut the heavy materials
  • Coolant
The coolant is to improve the lubrication, cooling and anti-fusion property so increase the durability and grade of the processed surface, and removes the cutting heat, reduces the generation power and add the productivity like the cleansing effect of the micro chips.
